OBSERVERS CERTIFICATE
The Observers Certificate provides members with the skills to recognise and report potential hazards and incidents while supporting the Club’s patrol operations.
Training focuses on surf awareness, beach surveillance, identifying people who may be at risk, recognising changing surf conditions and communicating important information to the patrol team. Observers learn how to systematically scan the beach and water and provide accurate information to assist lifesavers in preventing and responding to incidents.
The award is particularly valuable for members who want to contribute to patrols but may not wish to undertake the swimming and rescue components of the Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion.
It’s a great way to become actively involved in keeping our beach safe and to play an important role within the patrol team.
